What is Faction Paradox?
A group of time-active ritualists, saboteurs and subterfugers--essentially, the criminal-cult to end all criminal-cults. The Faction seeks to subvert history to its own ends, preferably by letting its rivals kill each other off, then swooping in to seize whatever's left--presuming the Universe survives.

What is the War?
The War (or "The War in Heaven," as it's often called) is a major outbreak of hostilities between the Universe's time-active cultures, including Faction Paradox. Because the War is temporal in nature, it's been questionable if any group can truly proclaim victory, as each major power tries to retroactively undo its defeat. In such a conflict, the greatest victory of all is simply to preserve your own past, preventing your opponent from wiping you from history.

What's the novel series' format?
Each novel is a stand-alone story, meaning you can simply pick one up and start reading.

What is The Book of the War?
A fictional guidebook that covers the first 50 years of the War. The Book of the War is perhaps the most definitive Faction Paradox text, although it's not required reading. The Book of the War was published in Sept. 2002 and is currently available.

Who is Compassion?
Originally a woman named Laura Tobin, "Compassion" -- as she is now known -- experienced a series of bizarre events that transformed her into a fully sentient "timeship." Compassion looks fully humanoid on the outside, but is invulnerable, super-strong and can journey, under her own power, anywhere in time and space.

Compassion prominently appears in the Faction Paradox novel Of the City of the Saved.... No pre-knowledge of the character is necessary in order to enjoy the book.

What is the City of the Saved?
A human enclave -- located between the end of our Universe and the beginning of the next -- that supposedly containing every human being who ever lived.

The City is heavily protected against incursion by the Universe's time-active powers. Yet offshoots of the major powers, such as the Rump Parliament (a Faction Paradox affiliate) keep trying to gain a foothold in the City for their parent organization.

The novel Of the City of the Saved..., as the title might imply, focuses on this realm. It previously appeared in The Book of the War, but no pre-knowledge of the City is needed to understand the novel series.
